Rob, Just wanted to send you a note and let you know that I passed the CPNE
in Janesville, WI last weekend. Your vidio's, advice and mneumonic's saved my
life! I had to repeat the IM/SubQ inj because I gave my IM too high up for the
vas/lat. They were also going to fail me on my 3rd PCS which was my peds
patient because they did not like my care plan - which was the same plan as I
had done before on a pneumonia patient! I remembered what you said for
standing up for yourself, told them I did not agree with that, and that I had
given good nursing care, had made good clinical decisions's and provided good
documentation's. The CE & CA talked in private and came back with a pass!  So
definately stand up for yourself when you believe you are right, they really do
want you to do well. Again, THANK YOU!!!!!  Karen Moreland GN!

I just wanted to thank you for this program.  I was the only person at my
CPNE who hadn't went to a workshop, which made me feel like I may have
been a bit more likely to fail.  But thanks to your mnemonics I was able to pass
my CPNE the first time out.  Thanks so much for your assistance; it was nice
to get useful help without breaking the BANK ! I only found your web page just
over a month before my CPNE, but I still feel that your ideas on the grid and
the mnemonics breaking down all the necessities of what they grade upon
really helped me tons!!

Consider this a strong endorsement of your product and please post, I only ask
that you do not reveal my name for privacy.

I ordered both the AOC and Lab simulation videos from you around July 2009. I
was impressed with the prompt delivery of my videos as well as instructions
forwarded to my email concerning my order. My background is in school nursing
consequently I have limited knowledge in executing the AOC and Labs required
by Excelsior to be successful with the CPNE. Although, I utilized other
resources as well, I feel none prepared me more than your videos. I watched
your videos religiously everyday and was able to perform the AOC / LABs in my
sleep. They took away my apprehension and fear of the unknown.
Unfortunately, I was not successful on my first attempt end of November,
2009.

I am aware that you offer a 100% money back guarantee in the event that a
student does not pass. I have my "sorry you were not successful letter" that I
could have sent to you and received my money back. However, I had my
conscience to contend with as I knew my initial failure was due to my nerves
and the rigors of the nature of the exam and not your videos. I was financially
exhausted but managed to pay for my second attempt with support from my
family. Your videos were an invaluable resources in helping me pass on my
second and final attempt end of January 2010. I am sorry to say that I am glad
you were unsuccessful on your first attempt too; perhaps you would not have
made those videos if you had passed.

To hear "it's a pass" after my last PCS was indeed PRICELESS for me. I have
been endorsing your products and will continue to do so as there are several
students out there who are not aware of your products. Keep doing what you
are doing.

God bless you.

Dear Robbie,

Well, I just got home.  I PASSED!!!!  I have you to thank for it!  If I had not
used the mneumonics and dvds of the labs and pcs that you made, I wouldn't
have made it.  Your mnemonics are priceless.  :)  Thank you so much!!  I
referred your website and dvd's to a number of people at my cpne weekend
who were not successful.  I told them I was confident you could help them out
with your system of doing things.  Best of luck to you !

Hey Rob, Just wanted to say thanks for your product. I bought your videos and
used your mneumonics, and passed at Grady last weekend with no repeats. I
have been telling everyone about your stuff. There were some people there
without mneumonics and without a grid and did not do well. I would not have
survived without either, they saved me in both the labs and pcs. Thank you so
much. It is b/c of you that I did not have to repay the $2000 and waste more
time.

I Rob,thank you very much for all of your support for CPNE. I passed this
weekend with no repeats after failed twice. Some one i met passed first time
after using your videos told me about your stuff - the check list is so good, this
is the best approach to CPNE ! I hope everyone that is planning to take CPNE
will read this. Don't post  my name please just for privacy. If they will follow
your instructions, they will never go wrong. God bless you.

I just wanted to thank you for your pneumonics.  I used them all and I passed
today in Plano, TX with no repeats!  I don't know if I would have passed
without them.  Thanks again!!!

Hi rob i have to first start off saying Thank You ! I passed my cpne on the first
try i couldn't of done it without your help. I used your grids and mnuemonics
on all of my areas of care and followed your advice and i Passed! Im so relieved
that it's over now i can breathe and just prepare for my state boards. Again
thanks for your help.

Dear Rob, I heard about your materials from April Best (I met her at a CPNE
Workshop). It seemed no matter what I tried I couldn't wrap my head around
or remember mnemonics! (After spending $755.00 plus travel expenses for
the workshop, I still felt that I wouldn't be able to pass). I was really starting to
panic with only 5 weeks left before my test date. I received your materials &
believe that I wouldn't have passed (Racine, WI, Dec 11-13, 2009) without
them!!! Thanks so much for all the work you have put into this...you're
wonderful!!!  Respectfully, Patti Murtagh

Dear Rob,
Hello, you might not remember me - but several months ago you
sent me your CPNE DVDs.  I just want to say thank you,,, I did pass the
CPNE (the second time) with your help.  I would not have been able to
pass without your DVDs etc. and all the helpful hints I found within
them.  Then why you may wonder did I not pass the first time?
Well, the night before I left for Albany in September the oldest member
of our community at 97 years of age fell and hit her head and I knew she
was dying therefore I was very distracted besides the fact that another
sister was having surgery the following day.  Albany Medical was so big
just looking at it swallowed me alive and I was lost from the very
beginning.  The weekend was a total disaster - a nightmare from beginning
to end.  I came home totally exhausted and Sr. Monica died the next day.
However, I watched your DVDs again and you told how you didn't
pass anything at your first attempt with the CPNE so you gave me courage
to reschedule right away.
I knew I couldn't go back into the lion's den so the dean suggested that
I go to Utica which I did and passed it without any trouble - doing
everything just as you said.  So, now that it is behind me I just wanted
to take a minute to say thank you to you for helping me get through it.
Now on to boards...
May this New Year bring you peace and happiness to overflowing...

Sincerely,

Sister Sarah, O.P.

Rob,  I wanted to let you know I passed the CPNE this past weekend in
Milwaukee WI.  Your mnemonics worked great.  The only repeat I had was the
IM/SQ station.  I didn't know you can only give 1 cc in the Vastus Lateralis.

ROB's NOTE: Depending on where you get your information this answer
varies. HOWEVER, Excelsior College uses the book: Kee, J.R., et. al.
(2009). Pharmacology: A Nursing Process Approach (6th Ed.)

On pg. 40-41 this book states:

Intramuscular Injections:  Needle size 20-23 gauge, 18 gauge for blood
          Needle length 1.5 inches.

Technique:  Same as sub q except flatten the skin area using the thumb
and index finger and inject between them.  Insert the needle at a 90
degree angle into the muscle.

Vastus Lateralis:
Volume of drug administered is 0.5 ml or less for infants.
(Max=1ml)
1ml for pediatrics.
1-1.5 ml for adults, (max=2ml)

I just wanted to let you know though how picky they can be.  I had the area of
care of oxygen management.  I used the SOAP mnemonic and they had
discontinued the oxygen before I started the PCS.  However they said you still
need to check the skin surfaces even though she was no longer on the canula.
They let it go as a "forgiveness". On a side note, I had your videos for about 2
1/2 weeks before the CPNE and it changed everything. Before I got them I was
seriously considering postponing the date.  The videos  made me confident in
what I was doing, gave me a good system and dialog.  Your product is excellent
and I would recommed it to everyone, but you still need to read the Excelsior
study guide.  The CA and CE's in Milwaukee were really nice.  Dan

Rob I just wanted to send a big Thank You!  I passed my CPNE in Madison WI
Dec18-20!!  Your material and videos helped beyond measure.  My self and one
other girl were the only ones left on Sunday.  She had to do all 3 PCS.  I did fail
my first wound station.  I used the parachute technique and I admit, I got way
to ahead of myself and didn't take the time to realy push those edges out.  I
took my time the second go and it looked beautiful!  I did fail one adult PCS, for
again getting ahead of myself and not rechecking the pt ID for medication
management. I finished 2 PCS's with an hour left thanks to your mneumonics.
But my advice would definitely be to slow down and breathe!  The CE's were
wonderful and if you were confident and able to show how much effort went
into the exam by having a plan, the CE's knew you were going to make it.  And
that helps.  Thanks again Rob.  YOU'RE AWESOME!     April, MI

I  thank God for you Rob.  I never once attended a workshop, i was stuck home
with play doe's (diff colors), gauze and an IV bag with needless syringes. I went
through my CPNE just like that (snap) lol. I mean like everyone else yeah you
get nervous at the begining and all but those mneumonics really helps
especially when you write them down before begining. My fav was the
Australian guy (I glove I glove CDS AO) for the IV station just couldnt get it out
of my mind...lol. Please make use of that 15min during labs. It helped alot. I
quickly went to the wound station to practice packing the wound on the
manequin. I got soo used to the play doe wound home and I wanted to do the
real thing. It was great. My  Mosby's 2nd edition was all tagged and possible
goals with interventions highlighted.(its allowed) as long as there are no
mneumonics written in it . Blue for all resp DX , Red for Peripheral DX, Yellow
for pain DX and Orange for all other Risk DX. Believe me this worked out soo
well. All my patients fell in the Acute pain categories. This worked out
beautifully. I was done with my planing phase in about 5min. Trust me you can
never go wrong with Acute pain and Ineffective airway clearance and oh yeah
Risk for injury. Most pt's  fall under these categories or if not are at risk. The
examiners are really there to do their job. I mean if you appear confident you
wont have a problem. These patients are human beings and need to be treated
as such. I mean you may feel that oh the book says this that etc... but how
would you want to be treated if you were in their shoes? I mean all these
things are silently observed by these examiners (body language, attitude etc..).
I always went in thinking how fast and well i can do this. With this thought in
mind believe me the CE sitting or standing over you will not even matter. I
always completed the evaluation phase with about 10-15 min to spare. The
excelsior EPN can be resourceful at times. The CPNE is not bad believe me. The
Queens site rocks (NPAC). Fast to get a test date, nice staff, and nice CE's.
Remember your confidence brings out the niceness in these CE's Good Luck.

Hey Rob, just wanted to let you know that I passed my CPNE this weekend in
Lubbock. Dec 4-6. I followed all of your pneumonics. I did not have any pt.
repeats. The only repeat that I had to do in the whole thing was the IM/SUB Q,
and that was only because I had a brain fart and took one of my alcohol pads
off of the NPH insulin, laid it on the table, and put it back on when I
remembered to draw up Regular first. Not very aseptic. The CE that was
watching me was so nice about it. She said that she just wanted to tell me
NOOOOOO DONT DO IT. HAha. I used the RCAD RIG CAP pneumonic and flew
right through it on saturday. From the very start of the exam the CA and the
CE's were very nice and much more helpful than I thought they would be. They
did there job as they were supposed to, but I found that they were there to do
as much as they could within there power to help us succeed. My first two
adult PCS's were great as the pt's were so nice to ablige me by doing what ever
I asked of them. That made it a lot more smooth in my assessments. On my
first pcs I only had three selected areas of care which was very surprising to
me. I did not complain though. The next two pcs's I only had 4 selected AOC. I
was very relieved. On my pediatric pcs I was not so lucky as with the first two.
My pt. cried each and every time I would go up to attempt an assessment. The
CE that was with me was super cool, and made sure that I got all of my AOC
done. I wrote down each pneumonic on the back of the recording form just as
you showed to and went in a sequential order. I can't tell you how thankful I
am for you developing these study materials. There were six of us in the
beginning and only one of the other students was using your pneumonics.
Sadly, we were the only ones to pass the weekend. The CPNE was very tough
but with prayer, studying the manual and getting the pneumonics memorized I
was able to pull through. I wish everyone that was taking the CPNE would get
your information. It helped soo much. Thanks again for what you are doing

Just to drop you a line and let you know I passed in Plano TX this past
weekend.  It was overwhelming and at any point I could have ran out crying
and defeated, I wouldn't go through that again for anything.  That said however
it is over with now... I stuided on my own for the first CPNE and knew my
pneumonics, but yours were VERY EASY to remember under stress and
duress..... LOL.  If I had it to do over again I would have just bought all your
study stuff and been done with it.  Thanks for the help and word of support on
Wednesday night! Kelly Taylor ECSN GN

Rob,

Just to let you know, as of 10:00 AM this morning, I am a GN.  I passed in
Lubbock this weekend with NO REPEATS!!!!!

I thought you would also be proud to know that after starting the CPNE
with six students, by Sunday morning there were only three of us left.  Of
the three, two had used Robscpne.com and hadn't had any failures up to
that point.  The poor other girl had failed her first two PCS's, and would
have to pass all three on Sunday.

As a side note, I am glad that you are finding better ways to get people to
pay you for what you have put together.  In all honesty, I did have your
video without paying at first.  I was at the Lynn's workshop when Bev
mistakenly sent out a link with a password, but I knew I needed to pay for
something if I were to use it, which is why I did pay last spring.

Anyhow, thanks for all you have done.  I really don't know that I could have
passed without it.

Rob,   I passed the CPNE (11/20-11/23)in Syracuse, NY. First time, No
repeats!  I am forever grateful to you and your videos. I had an odd
experience in that I applied for my CPNE on Sept. 29th and got a date of
November 20th! That's only 2 months to prepare! Not quite the 5-8 months
the application tells you to anticipate. I attended an Excelsior workshop in
October. I read "THE" study guide and used you videos and Ebooks.  I also
set up a lab area to practice the lab sims hands on. I used all of your
pneumonics. I found your material to be exceptional, and above all I
passed!     I read the negative comments and I can't see how people can
argue with the price. These videos were the best investment I made for the
CPNE. I needed straight to the point information that I could memorize fast.
You sure delivered! You also assisted me with a technical error.  Your
service was prompt and you even sent me back up videos in case I had
further problems. You went above and beyond. Absolutely EXCELLENT
customer service.     I was very sad to see that people were "stealing" the
downloads from your site. It was very obvious that you put a lot of work
into your product and it is a shame that people took advantage of that
looking for a free ride.   Speaking of a free ride- The negative comments
that I see seem to be from people looking for an all knowing easy study
guide. No one can pass this beast without reading "THE" guide, knowing
the critical elements and studying until their brain melts. It is a HUGE
amount of information and you need to know your nursing skills inside and
out. You also have to have CONFIDENCE in your skills. (One girl that was a
nervous wreck failed out on day 2) You have to be sure of yourself and your
ability and go in there and get it done. Your videos really helped me achieve
that, but they were not the only source I used. If people listen to you and
read your posts they should understand this.

I will tell you that some people were very confused by the wound demonstration in
the Lab Sim Video. Even though you clearly state that cleansing the wound is not
necessary for the sim, the fact that you used sterile gloves to pour the saline then
changed gloves threw people off.  It was even a topic of discussion in an EPN chat.
The same question of changing your gloves came up and the Excelsior facilitator
stated "No, you don't need to! Where does this information keep coming from?" The
answer? Rob's CPNE!

-
ROBS NOTE: The reason that I left this information in has been
explained in the FAQ section of this website ( Q #13 ) and is included in
every lab sim EBOOK under CHAPTER # 6: CORRECTIONS TO
VIDEO/UPDATES. Melissa knew the answer but this question keeps
coming up because students keep "handing down" or giving their copies
of the video to other students. The material does not make sense and is
incomplete without the EBOOKS, and the EBOOKS can only be opened
on ONE computer

Thank you Rob for putting your time and effort into this. If you make a few dollars
doing it then good for you! You deserve it. I can say that 100% without any doubt
your material was a tremendous help and because of you "I passed the Excelsior
College CPNE!"

Robbie,  Please post this on your site. I passed in Racine, WI Nov 20-
22,2009 These video's are not only an excellent way to study for the CPNE
but I consider them THE BEST way to study for the CPNE but only if you
follow Rob's instructions carefully. The mnemonics are easy to remember
and make the PCS flow. Also I was able to use all of the verbage from Rob's
e-books to formulate my care plans and narratives. This is a truly
exceptional product and the price is so nominal compared to the value that
I initially thought that Rob was running a charity for us students. I hate to
say it but this material is "Dummy's Guide to the CPNE." Just buy it, learn it,
love it and succeed! I passed the CPNE the past weekend with no PCS
repeats using only Rob's material and reading through the study guide
once. Many thanks for guiding me through that difficult weekend.
- Michael S.

- On a side note, please add clarification in your ebooks on exactly how to
anatomically locate the vastus lateralis. I followed your video closely on this
and the picture was wrong and it was hard to tell where the "needle holes"
were on the dummy. After injection the CE got the CA who brought a
transparency that had a square on it indicating the "proper" location and
placed it over the site where I injected and I was off by 3 inches. I had to
repeat that lab. It was my fault though because I should have known how
to locate it by landmarks, which is one hand breadth above the knee or one
hand breadth below the groin line and laterally on the thigh. Please don't
take this the wrong way, you have an excellent product and I could not
have done it without you.
I was so confident about the injection i
made that i fought, just like you say, with the CA telling her
that it was in fact right.
Thanks again!  -Michael

ROBS NOTE:  In the video I did say that the vastus lateralis is on the lower
part of the thigh more towards the outside of the leg. I will update the
Ebook for the EXACT location. - Thank you Michael

Hi, thanks for the videos. I did pass this weekend in Lubbock!!!  I thought it
was kinda silly at first to write the mnemonics down when testing, but my
friend tested me for practice and i realized i tend to forget when im that
nervouse. So, i actually wrote down EACH mnemonic for each AOC, and
skills station as i tested, and i went right through it with no repeats. I did
the walk up the arm w each patient and cleared my 20 min checks quickly.
There were several students who failed for minor things, i suggested your
videos to them. There were 6 ppl, i know 3 passed for sure, 2 failed, and
not sure about the other one. But one of the other ones who passed used
your mnemonics too. anyhow, thanks a bunch!!! Sarah

Well Robbie, as you would put it..  I 'got the monkey off my back' =D  I
passed my first CPNE this past weekend in Lubbock, TX.  And a great
majorty of my studying came from your lab dvd and aoc's dvd.  Im not sure
how students can pass this test without seeing someone actually
performing the critical elements or having mneumonics and a grid.  I used
all your mneumonics, except with the '3 P's', I made it the '4 P's'. (pee, pain,
position, privacy). Yea, i did a little tweaking, but ya gotta do what works
for you.

When I first read the Excelsior study guide months back, I was like 'how am
I going to do this???'  Yes very overwelmed, like many students Im sure.    I
couldn't've done this without your material Rob and Im forever grateful.
Much prayer and your dvd's are an excellent way to prepare for this
unbelievable exam, which I'll never forget.  You gave me so much
confidence in myself.  I never thought I would be able to do this deep
down, kinda thought I was just kidding myself.  But I came out of this
weekend with NO repeats on the labs or PCS's..  =)  I feel like now that I
passed this test, I have the confidence to be a RN.

Im sorry you were unsuccessful on your first attempt, but I guess
everything happens for a reason. Otherwise, you may have never created
your dvd's, which has helped many, many students in achieving thier
dream.  You are truly a blessing Rob!  Thanks a million!!                 Josh, GN

ROB, Thank you for the updates......

I was in Racine WI last week end Oct30 - Nov 1 2009 . I did my CPNE at
Wheaton Franciscan Health Care Hospital. It was a beautiful facility with
wonderful CA and CE's.I had an awesome experience.....Yes… its nerve
wrecking, but nonetheless, it was awesome.

My Simulation lab on the first day went great! Your simulation labs
pneumonic were awesome. I had to modify them in a way where it made
more sense to me. (I wished I had a hard copy of the AOC pneumonic
though) See…. I opened the AOC pneumonic on a different computer
unfortunately I don’t remember which computer I used to access it. To be
honest though, your pneumonic and videos gave me an idea on what
should I be expecting during this 3 day CPNE period.

Several friends of mine strongly encouraged me to attend workshops. I
wanted to but the cost, the time, and other factors made it impossible for
me to do so.

Amazingly, I found your site the first week of September with your
affordable CPNE AOC/SL videos. I tell you, I considered that purchase a
“worth spending” item to acquired. Especially if you compare its price to
those workshop prices out there.

I passed my simulation lab and my patient care scenarios.

I quickly browsed thru the videos the moment I received them and kind of
watched the parts that were unclear to me 2 days before I left for Racine
WI . My biggest mistake though was my lack of attention towards the Care
plans…. The PLANNING Phase and the EVALUATION Phase. I thought it
wasn’t that big of a deal. I never read the Excelsior College CPNE
guidelines regarding this Planning and Evaluation Phase. I focused entirely
on Implementation Phase coz that was the most complaints and point of
failure that I’ve read on blogs. Believed me though, I spent a very long 2
hours reading the guidelines on PLANNING and EVALUATION after my first
day of PCS. I struggled on these Planning and Implementation during my
first 2 PCS on the first day. They gave us 2 ½ hrs to do the whole PCS. I
spent 45 min on Implementation and I spent 1 hr and 45 min on those care
plans. I think It would be helpful if you mention this on your website to
balance everything coz everything (Planning, Implementation, Evaluation)
matters.

I would like to personally thank you for what you’ve done and what you’re
helping out CPNE Examiners. Without your videos, I would have find CPNE
experience difficult.

God Bless You

Jay Sanidad

- PS  Pls do share my experience if you think it’s appropriate. Also’ I don’t
mind sharing my email address for anyone who is anxious about CPNE, for
those who needs additional support, and ideas on how to make it thru.

Hi Rob! I passed my CPNE in Milwaukee October 30-November 1. Your video
was a lifesaver, since I couldn't afford to attend a workshop. I had to
repeat one lab simulation, and passed all of my patient care simulations
with no repeats. Thank you so much for making this weekend a little less
stressful for me! I highly recommend Rob's area of care video!

Hi Rob,
Just wanted to let you know that I passed this weekend in Lubbock.  So
glad to have my life back!  I used your mneumonics, added patient specific
things once I got report.  I really didn't have time to check off anything, but
did when I charted and that saved me!
I used your AOC Dvd and doing it everyday took away the unknown,
because it became automatic to just do it.
I went to a few work shops, but it was your AOC DVD that took me through
the PCS.

Thank you so much and for each question I sent you and your responded
right away, no matter how dumb I thought my question was. That was
greatly appreciated.

Again thank you for helping me pass!

I know you come in contact with many people, but I was the one that
thought u were eye candy. It was such a pleasure to watch u carry out

Rob, thanks.  I passed in Racine, WI this weekend.  Your mnemonics are
what I used.  I did not take a workshop or use any other study material
except your video and skimmed the Study Guide.  I prepared for about 3
weeks and I passed with your help.  Thank you so much.  3 out 6 passed all
had been to a workshop and spent lots of money to prepare.  They all
failed one patient on Saturday.  I didn't.  I was the only one that had your
video. You are awesome for doing this to help all of us!!  Thank you.  My
daughter who is 5 loved to watch you.  She says that you are so
handsome. Keep up the good work.  Christi

Hey Rob! Just wanted to say thank you for all your dedication! I passed this
weekend Oct 9-11th in Plano, TX. The CA was super, and the CE's were so
nice. They were clapping for me when i walked in the room after i was told i
passed. They are very professional and do exactly what they are there to
do(it's what your video said..they are not your friends, they are there to
pass or fail you..but after it was over, they transformed into the nice people
that they deeply are..lol) It was an awesome place to test, the hospital is
not overwhelming and the staff is great. They have students there 24/7! Of
course this test WAS stessful, definitely one of the most dificult weekends
in my life....HOWEVER....your videos were my life saver!! I followed it word
for word. I was so prepared, i was the only one who passed all 4 labs and
the 3 PCS without repeats!  There were 6 of us that started, and on
Sunday morning there were 3. Not sure who finished, i was out of there by
10:30 and headed home! I do know that i was the only one who had all
your material..some used a few of your mnemonics they picked up online,
and i think one had your AOC video. I NEVER went to a workshop,
purchased both flashcards and orientation video, but never used them
again after i found your stuff. (i prepared in 5 weeks) Anyway, thanks
again! Keep doing what you do! We appreciate it! I wouldn't have made it
without ya!

Hi Rob, I realized I forgot to tell you a couple of things about my CPNE.
There were 6 of us and by Sunday morning we were all still there, but 1
person was in the process of re-doing an adult PCS so I don't know if she
passed or not. But 4 out of the 6 were using your mnemonics!!!!!!!!!!

One person was there for the 2nd time. She was not using your
mnemonics. I just wanted you to know how many people you have helped.
Still waiting for my transcripts so I can take the NCLEX.

Take care,

Thank You!  Thank You!  Thank You!  I passed this weekend 10/2-10/4 in
Racine, Wi.  No repeats for the labs or the 3 PCS.  I strictly studied with
your product and the study guide, no workshops.  The hospital staff were
great.  The CA was a trip!  She spoke her mind, called people out and was
a very nice lady.  I liked her a lot.  The CE's did not mess around but they
were fair.  If you proved to them that you knew what you were doing, you
were assertive and had a positive attitude they wanted you to pass.  I was
asked to step out of a room one time.  My peds PCS was a boy on droplet
isolation.  The sign outside the door said that a mask needed to be worn
within a 3 foot vicinity of the child.  I went into room and started washing
my hands and talking to the child and his mother.  The CE interrupted my
hand washing and asked me to step out.

Out in the hallway she stated I failed to mask up and needed to call the
CA.  The sink was a least Ft 5 from the patient and the masks were on the
same counter as the sink.  She did not give me a chance to mask up.  The
CA was notified and said to continue.  This is where assertiveness comes
in.  Be careful and know how to defend yourself.  There were 6 people in
our group and I am guessing that 3 of us passed.  There was one person
testing when I left and the stress was really beginning to take over her.
Please post.

Hi Rob,

I just wanted to let you know that I recently took my CPNE (Sept. 18 -20) in
Albany and I passed with no repeats!!!

Thank you for taking the time to put together such a well collaborated video
with concepts explained in great and understandable detail. I chose your
video over the great expense of a workshop and reviewed it on a regular
basis both before my CPNE and the morning of my skills lab.

Honestly, I was nervous that what you had to offer may not be "enough" to
prep me and that I might be at a great disadvantage to those attending EC
workshops. Well, 6 of us went into the CPNE and only 3 of us were left on
Sunday morning and the 3 that were unfortunately gone had all attended
workshops!!!

Thank you again for your dedication to the student and process and I
would highly recommend your products!!

Hi Rob,
Bought your video back in February, although I wasn't done my theory yet.
But felt comfort in knowing that I had purchased a product that everyone
was raving about. You truly are a blessing, wish I could see you in person
and give you the biggest hug you've ever had.
I PASSED my CPNE in York, PA this past weekend (9/25-9/27). I feel so bad
that you failed that first time you took the cpne, but I believe everything
happens for a reason. If you had not failed, you may never have made that
video and I would not have passed. You are a blessing and I can not thank
you enough for how much help you have given me. I used your
mneumonics, most to the exact and some I changed (added) my own
thoughts, or extra's. I was actually dreaming your mneumonics towards the
end. Even slept walked one night, was thinking of alice in wonderland
because of the map hatr, and was walking towards my daughters room
"stating I'm late for my next PCS", and I going over all my mneumonics in
my head. Thank God I came to my senses, never did anything like that
before in my life. Someone told me it was because I was prepared and
ready to take my cpne. Needless to say, my kids sleep better at night, now
that I'm done this journey :-) Have to tell you my two dogs miss you. As
soon as I put your tape in, which was every day. They would curl up on the
sofa and (sorry to say they would fall fast asleep), your voice just put them
at ease, as it did me, although I only feel asleep once :-)
You have become a part of my family, my kids and husband could have
passed the cpne, just from repeating you words and watching your video
with me. Plus, they didn't think I was so weird anymore when they saw you
had a dummy too. My whole dining room was a lab and Alice (my dummy)
was placed on my buffet table. My lab is gone, the video put away, but you
are forever in our hearts.
Just wanted to let you know that you are very much appreciated and a
blessing.
If you ever wonder what your purpose is or was......you've accomplished
that goal, a million or more times.
I hope you continue to help others and  maybe expand in more ways with
this. Your video was so fair in price, but after receiving the help I needed
from you.......it's actually priceless. You could make more money then your
cost, but in my heart, I feel that you truly are just trying to help others.
I went to a workshop, missed work (to take time off to go), and paid for a
hotel room, plus gas, food, etc. Paid a lot for the workshop and totally felt
ripped off, as did others.
Thank you!!!
Sincerely,
Vicki

I order and got ur product 2 days before my cpne. The good things about ur
product is it's easy to understand and follow, straight to the point. It's
definitely worth the money. The only bad thing that I would say is I had hell
downloading the info, it was so much work. Initially I though it was my
computer so I went out and bought a new laptop but I had the same
problems, eventually it downloaded and I had the info, u sent me th lab
sims thru the mail because I still couldn't get that info, which was ok with
me. I got what I really needed which was the AOC and the PCS, which
needless to say Idid wonderfully and passed my cpne. thanx! ED

**IF you have problems downloading the videos just Email me and I can
help troubleshoot. I have had MANY people download the video without
problem. As a matter of fact over HALF of my orders are for the
download version**

HEY THERE ROB....I PASSED. THE CPNE WAS OK BECAUSE I USED YOUR
MNENOMICS FOR EVERYTHING. I HAD NO REPEATS. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I
FEEL LIKE THE WORLD IS LIFTED OFF OF MY SHOULDERS. ONE FUNNY THING
THAT HAPPENED IS ON FRIDAY NIGHT AFTER EVERYONE WAS BACK AT THE
HOTEL THE LIGHTS WENT OUT BECAUSE OF A CAR HITTING A POLE AND THE
LIGHTS WERE OUT UNTIL 2:30AM. SOME OF THE LPN'S WERE IN THE HALLS
DOING CARE PLANS FOR THEIR FIRST PCS WITH GLOW LIGHTS HANDED OUT
BY THE HOTEL. WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE CA AND SOME OF THE CE'S
WERE STAYING THERE AS WELL. MILWAUKEE WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL AND WE
REALLY DRANK ALOT OF THE LOCAL BREW ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THANK
YOU ROB, I HAVE LISTENED TO YOUR DVD SO MUCH I FEEL LIKE YOU ARE

first time with no repeats.  Your video is without a doubt the way to go! Put

Thanks,I passed in plano, texas on sept11th thru the 13th.It was my
second try. The first was in albany. I feel they were a little more
compassionate in Plano, but it was still very difficult and I was extremely
nervous. The examiners were extremely particular about the injection site
angles. went with the leg, but they had to measure. Glad to be done with
EXTREME TESTING!

Hi Rob, I passed the CPNE in Madison this past weekend with no repeats. It
was at Meriter hospital. I know you like feedback, so I thought I would
share a couple of things.
Your mnemonics are priceless. I did add a couple of things to mine, just
because I needed to. For fluid management, I added a reminder to myself
that if you are checking the anterior fontanel, the child must be in the
upright position unless contraindicated. For abdominal assessment, I made
mine 5 P's instead of 3 so I would remember "privacy" and "please turn off
suction if necessary, then turn back on!!"
I found the wound to not be as deep as the one I had practiced on, so it
was very hard to get the wet gauze to stay in place. Also, the gloves were
a joke. It is great that they let you play with everything before the tests
begin!
I found that some of the CEs were by the book and others were more
relaxed. (and relaxing!!) I could not tell if it was because they were newer
or had been doing it for forever.
All of my PCSs were pretty straightforward. I had neurological assessment
for 2 of them, respiratory assessment for 2 of them, medications for 2 and
comfort management for ALL. (just like you said!) On one, I was assigned
patient teaching with RESPIRATORY ASSESSMENT!! What??? "OK, this is
how you sit up straight so you can breathe better :)" Anyway, it ended up
working out fine, because the patient has chronic asthma flare-ups and she
had an antibiotic that she was supposed to take prophylactically that she
was afraid to take because of all the talk about overuse of antibiotics. So I
just used that as the teaching. I felt very fortunate none of my kardex
assignments were too difficult. This is not to say they were without
problems. My first patient began to have a serious change of condition
during my PCS and I could not complete some of my AOCs. But my CE said,
"Sometimes you can't complete them, it's not your fault. Just document all
you can." So that one went by pretty fast. The second one was pretty much
how I had practiced at home. She was very stable and just wanted me to
be able to learn. The 3rd one was a bit more involved as far as comfort
measures go and just needed a lot of TLC. I had to trust that my CE would
give me a little extra time for charting since I spent so much of my precious
time just trying to help this patient get into a comfortable position. The CE
was helping also. This patient was a 2 person assist for bed mobility! She
also wanted to go to the bathroom right when we got into the room. I had
a little inward panic because I needed to do my 20 min. checks but didn't
want to cause 'emotional jeopardy' by not attending to her needs. So out
came these wonderful words. "OK, Ms. _________, we can help you to the
bathroom, but I do need to check your IV first, just so I know where all the
tubing is so we don't get tangled up as we help you out of bed." (ID had
already been done) Her fluids were not infusing at the ordered rate, so I
showed the CE and she said she would check on it with the Primary RN. I
also had to give this patient a heparin injection! I was left with 20 minutes
at the end for all my documentation. I told my CE I didn't think it was
enough time, and she said "Let's just see how far you get." She ended up
giving me just enough extra time. So, students must be prepared that
anything from the sim labs could come up during the PCS. My fellow
students were being assigned things that sounded a bit more scary to all of
us. One had to irrigate a G-tube. This is actually very easy, but if you have
never done it it is very scary. I would suggest students look on line for any
info regarding this. Another student had a patient with both an NG tube
that was attached to suction, as well as a J-tube that she had to administer
the patients meds through!! Whew!!!! AND the patient had a feeding
infusing that completed while she was in the room!! DARN!
So, now on to my biggest complaint. I was led to believe by studying the
study guide that the most important part is the Implementation Phase. I
know documentation is important also, but the Implementation part of the
study guide takes up about 75% of the guide!! So I concentrated most on
that. The Evaluation phase did not seem hard to me. You document your
findings, and fill out the evaluation phase nursing care plan. WELL, they
were very picky about the wording used on the Evaluation NCP. 4 or 5 of us
had to go to the CA and 'defend our position'!!!!!!!!! Just because we chose
a different 'related to' factor than they would have chosen. Or we didn't
write out the evidence that our intervention worked with the right words!!
One girl failed her 3rd PCS because of wording. No one had trouble with the
rationale for choosing that particular dx as their priority. Where the problem
was was in the other columns where you have to evaluate the
effectiveness of your intervention. If you choose "Complete mobility
assessment" for your intervention for Impaired physical mobility, and you
check 'met' then the documentation must be your assessed findings. (just
follow MAD ATOP) Then, if your 2nd intervention is repostion X1, then you
chart exactly what you did. That's what they want there. I can't believe a
person would fail for that! Especially if they completed all their AOCs
perfectly and completed all documentation. I had printed off a bunch of the
Evaluation NCP forms and I used them as part of my mock PCSs. I filled
them out in their entirety each time so I could get used to doing them. I
think this helped me.
Finally, I wanted to talk about the CA. I did not feel that she was my
advocate. I felt more comfortable with the CEs than with the CA. She
performed her management responsibilities well, but I don't think she put
us at ease with her warm fuzzies. I wrote all of this in my evaluation. I think
it's important to encourage people to write exactly what they think for the
evaluations. It's important that they get positive and negative feedback so
maybe those who follow us can have a more positive experience.
I guess this is enough of my experience. I sure appreciate all of your help. I
know this is kind of an 'on the side' thing for you but we are all indebted to
you for your guidance. Please feel free to post my email on your site.  It
sure feels good to be finished and be a graduate nurse. Not even the
NCLEX can scare me after this weekend!!

Robb,

I had to shoot you an email to thank you for your video and mnemonics.  I
just took the CPNE in Albany , NY this past weekend and passed the first
time around.  Like you, I do not work directly with patients and was very
nervous going into the CPNE.  I used your resources and really focused on
knowing the mnemonics…it paid off!  Even though it was the most stressful
situation I have ever been in I passed!  I sincerely owe it to you and your
resources.  I did not pay for any online CPNE courses nor did I participate in
any chat room or scheduled advisement calls.  With your recourses it is
possible to pass the CPNE if you follow what your given and believe in
yourself.  There were 7 students total this past weekend and only 3
passed, thank God I was one of them.  Thanks again, by far the best $75
dollars I have ever spent! (for both videos)
P.S.  I would add in a ped component….that one scared me since I really
had not thought to much about it!  It was very difficult to come up with
diagnosis for peds (priority nsg dx) and for a pt I had that truly had nothing
wrong with her!!!  I fell back on the readiness for enhanced comfort, since I
was assigned comfort mgmt (thanks for that one!)  It also would be helpful
if you could throw in some R/T and AEB scenarios with your nsg dx…just to
get an idea for those that do not have experience writing nsg dx or take
the online care planning conf.  Just some suggestions!
Thanks again!

ps - the only thing I think I noticed that was different from your videos was
there was no tape at the IV push station so you had stick your syringes
back into the plastic container and keep the med separate from the flush.
Also, I think everyone in my group had to mix two drugs to give IM -- which
isn't really covered anywhere. I did it the same as you would SQ and I
passed. Anyway, BIG THANKS!!  :) :) :)

Hi Rob would like to say thanks.I passed the CPNE in Albany Aug 2 09. My
nerves got to me the first set of labs and I had to repeat IV push and IM
injections but I wasn't to worried had done those lab sims hundreds of
times in my garage.I passed the first PCS with no problems but didn't even
get through the door with my peds pt, used two at risk for. Second set of
lab sims was a breeze wore my gloves this time and didn't throw my sharp
into the garbage. Sunday was great, did my adult pcs without a hitch and
was in and out with my peds pt in 15min. I want to say
I only used your
instruction videos to pass this test
and would highly recommend them to
any future students going to take this exam.I would also like to say thanks
for answering my some time simple questions. I know you must get these
same questions over and over again so thanks for your patience.

Hello Rob,

I just want to take the time to thank you for your video. It has really helped
me to organize and put everything together.

The first time I tested  in Mansfield I had only about 3 weeks to prepare.
Your dvd and mnuemonics was my starting foundation to help me get
through the pcs. I failed the wound station 2X so this sent me home. You
did not have a dvd for lab station at that time, but used you mnuemonics
for each station. I just tested again in Racine, Wiconsin and was the only
one that passed every lab and pcs with absolutely no errors or retakes.
Where some brought their spouses - I brought you:>) LOL... I brought my
portable dvd player and would put your dvd in and play it all night while I
slept. It was like you were my CPNE Coach.

Thank you

Hello. Thank you so much for all of your advice that you gave me after
reviewing your videos and following up on the questions that I had. I
passed the CPNE this weekend. Your videos were my primary source for
passing this test. I set up lab simulations and a mock patient how you
described and used your neumonics to make my list on the back of my form.
I passed all PCS's with no repeats. Thanks again for everything. I would
recommend your videos to anyone. Take care and thanks for everything.

Rob,

I would like to thank you for your assitance in passing the CPNE on July 2,
2009.  I purchased 3-different study programs during my preparation, but
found yours made the most sense to me.  The combination of the video and
nmenonics allowed me to understand and put the assessments and
management pieces into memory much easier than the others.  In fact, the
grid preperation truly saved me on one of my PCS's.

Once again thank you, and keep up the good work helping good people to

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

I passed in Mansfield with no PCS repeats.     I cannot tell you how thankful I am
that I found your website and used that DVD.  I took a small TV with a DVD player to
the hotel and had it continuously playing.  It worked.  Your mnemonics are right on.
I used your rationale for all 3 PCS. This was my first time attempting the CPNE.
There were seven of us that started on Friday.  Unfortunately, Sunday morning, we
were down to five.  I know that one other student had passed all 3 PCS with no
repeats and she too used your DVD.  The other three had failed one PCS on Saturday
and needed to repeat one.  I left  before they were done, but speaking to them
Sunday morning about how WONDERFUL you are they did not know about your DVD.
I do hope they did well.  But YOU gave me the confidence to go and do 3 with no
repeats.  I am still hearing your voice in my head - wash hands,  check ID band,
wash hands.  I will always be a spokesperson for you whenever I meet someone that
is doing this.   Your material is hands down the best out there.  I searched the
internet forever looking for stuff to study and your's IS THE BEST HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!
Thanks again!!!

Hi Rob,
I have written to you before to ask Qs about this or that on your videos (I bought
both of them) and thank you for replying and being so prompt with the replies. Just
wanted to share that I PASSED!!!!! yesterday in Mansfield.

Also want to give credit where credit is due: I could not have done it without the clarity
your videos give to the entire process. Used your perfectly ridiculous mnemonics in
the sims labs on the calculation sheet and used them as I went along. God bless you
for the help you give us in what is probably an unnecessarily stressful process.

Also an update: I have asked 2 different faculty on Excelsior ( in advisement calls
and on the EPN board ) about the sub Q and they all maintain now that all sub Q and
IM should be given at 90 degrees unless the patient has so little fat that it is safer to
go at 45. In the labs it is hard to assess pt fat ofcourse so they recommend we go at
90 for IM and sub q. Also no need to aspirate for sub q. ( but i think you mention
that in yr video?). Please double check on this and add this info to yr video, it will
make  for fewer variables in the process.

Robs response: I don't usually respond to reviews, but in this case it is valid (good
information in here). Please see question # 12  in the FAQ tab as to why I probably
will not change this. It is for a different question, but still applicable in this situation.
I just want as many people to pass as possible.

It would be great also if you add a segment in your AOC  or PCS video on
medications. I was asked to give oral, hang a piggy back and give a flush to an
IVAD. For each of these I used the applicable mnemonic from the labs so i would not
forget anything and it worked like a charm, but lots of folks including me are
confused on when to do the "3 checks and the 5 rights" Also not to aspirate on subq ,
bec a lot of us get lovenox or insulin, so we need to know about that air bubble in
the prefilled heparin syringe , and not draw up a bubble if we need to do heparin
from a multivial dose.

Robs response: The new video will have those 3 different scenarios for meds, but
just know that if you use the med mnemonic with the lab sim mnemonic (RCAD RIG
CAP) you will be fine. As far as 5 rights - DO THEM ON EVERY PT. THAT YOU HAVE TO
GIVE A MEDICATION TOO ! That includes ORAL - PIGGY BACK - IV FLUSH

Also if in a new video you could do a complete patient simulation , ( I know you have
a PCS run thru in there)

In my former life I was a physician, and have worked around the world  (India, Middle
east , Ireland, China and Malaysia - my husband travelled a LOT and I would get a
job wherever we went ) Now planning to be an NP some day and get me a nice quiet
practice with not a lot of patients , just enough to keep me busy as I grow older. I
had the background knowledge to wing the nursing concepts part (I gave two exams
a week and finished the whole set of the 8 NC courses in a month, but did not have
the technical skills to do the hands on part ( had not given a shot in ages) ..also
specially as once you have developed a certain way of examining patients it seems
even  harder to do it the EC way. Anyways , just sharing my 2 cents.

Thank you for your help, best $80 I EVER SPENT. God bless you for the work you do.
Keep at it, what goes around, comes around.

Zareen

Robs response: Thank you Zareen for this excellent information that may help
others out there to pass !

Hello, I just wanted to write a review of the video....  I PASSED in Albany April 24-
26th!  For me this was financially a must pass situation.  I lie in Alaska and that is a
huge plane ticket to anywhere.  I got your video 2 months before the exam and
watched it a couple times a week, memorized the pneumonics and more then
anything, practiced the way you recommended!  All went well.  The main reason I
bought your video, was because being unable to travel to the lower 48 for a workshop
and looking at a 500 pag   book, I just didn't knowwhere to start.  This video gives
you just that!
When I received your video, I could not write a nursing care plan to save my life!
The additional info you sent on care plans was worth the 40 bucks itself.
Thank You very much for this helpful information!

Thanks Again For EVERYTHING!

Add another "winner" to your list.  Just got home from taking my CPNE in Plano.  I
only ordered your video with about a month to spare.  It really helped organize my
thoughts and help me understand what is expected!  Passed with no PCS repeats!

I just wanted to say thank you for such a great study guide. I have been a paramedic
for 3 years and decided to attend Excelsior to obtain my RN. I started in August of
2008 and finished in December. I submitted by CPNE application the third week of
January 2009 and was told it would be 7-9 months before I could test. I took a break
from my studies since it would be so long before testing. Well, they called Feb. 18th
and asked if I would test in Amarillo TX on March 13th. Surprised, I said YES!!! and
ordered your study guide immediately. I had three weeks to study. I set up a mock
pt room, stuffed dummy, “borrowed” supplies from work, practiced mnemonics, and
watched your video three times. My poor husband was a mock pt for me and probably
could have taken the test and passed too. I am pleased to say- I passed the FIRST
time. Thank you so much! You should be proud!

Hi Rob, Well I did it !!!!!! Passed my CPNE in Mansfield and honestly, I could not
have done it without your DVD and great mnemonics !!!!!!!   I did not have to repeat
any labs and only failed 1 PCS----forgot to ID patient, if you can believe it !!!!
Nerves just started to take over. Funny, out of the 7 people in my group 4 of us went
to Lynn's workshop and everyone had the same comments !!!!!!!!  I got on the buddy
chat with Excelsior today and highly recommended your DVD.
What recommendations do you have for me to study the NCLEX?  I am a Resp
Therapist so I feel like a fish out of water and nervous about the NCLEX.  Did you go
to Kaplan or any other workshop? I have the Saunders review book with the CD and
have been studying from it.  I hate to put out a lot more money, but if you have any
experience with NCLEX workshop, etc, please let me know.
Again, Thanks for the great instruction and mnemonics on your fabuloud DVD.

Rob,

I wanted to write to tell you that I purchased your video in Dec 08. I like you didn't
have much pt contact. From the very first time I watched it I could relate to your style
of teaching. Well I took my test this past weekend (2/6-8). AND I PASSED! I owe it to
your video. There were 7 of us. 5 of them were there for the 2nd time. I was my 1st
time. They were real particular about documentation. Everyone was complaining
about that. All my instructors hinted & helped me when I about to do something
wrong & I strongly believe that was because I was so well prepared with my pt
assessments that they hated to see me fail for something minor. I only had 3 pt
because I passed them all the first time. But on the 3rd pt I had the Instructor keep
warning me that this pt was known to be uncooperative & that I needed to get in the
room or I would run out of time, even the primary RN told me that she was told that
in report as well. So I went in the room & 1st thing I did was THANKED the pt as you
suggested. He cooperated with me & I was in & out in 15 min. I even accidentally did
a respiratory assessment that I didn't need to do. I was so quick that I I&O's that
were both 0 because I was done before the breakfast tray even arrived. I think my
instructor was so impressed that he showed me where the revised care plan section
was just in case I needed to revise it. So after looking at it I realized I put 2 @ risk
for's  Instead of 1 actual diagnosis. I probally would have caught it but you never
know. So I wanted to write & tell you that I really appreciate all your efforts that went
into this video. It was what helped me pass for sure. It was worth every cent & then
some. I didn't take any other prep classes, even though I wished I had taken one on
documentation. Even Friday night after my sim labs I re-watched you video again. I
owe my GN status to you.

Thanks Again, Lynee

I just had to let you know how extremely helpful your mnemonics for the lab stations
were for me!!! I had purchased another DVD for the labs and had several other
sources I had reviewed to help me learn all of the critical elements for the labs, but
nothing was sticking in my head.  I read your mnemonics through once very carefully
and I had them memorized right away. They just made so much sense to me. I used
all of them at my CPNE. I actually wrote them down at each station once my time
started and I sailed through each station with no problems at all.  I wasn't even
nervous because I knew there was no way I would forget anything with it all right in
front of me.  I passed all four labs and all three PCS's with no repeats.  Thank you
so much for making this information available. (Feel free to use this note to let
others know how helpful your material is.)

Rob thanks for the informative DVD. It was $40.00 very well spent. By the way, I was
unable to attend any of the offered workshops, but I received a tremendous amount
of help and encouragement from all of them. If your financial situation allows it, I
highly recommend attending a workshop. I can give you a better idea about what to
expect at the CPNE which should help with the calming process. To all of those
preparing for the CPNE, I can’t stress the importance of knowing your critical elements
and charting from your grid. The CA and CE’s in Plano, TX this weekend were very fair
and encouraging. They truly wanted everyone to do well and were genuinely proud of
each success.

Comments = I just wanted to let you that my CPNE was this past weekend
(Jan.2-4) and I passed!!
You should know that I am completely convinced that I could not have done this
without your dvd.I am a busy mother of 3 school age children that I run around
constantly.I was concerned that with such a busy life, how would I ever find enough
time to adequately prepare for the CPNE? Here's what I did: First,I watched your dvd
several times, then due to always being on the go,I put your dvd in my dvd player in
my van and even though I couldn't see it while I was driving,I tried to picture what
you were doing while listening to the dvd a billion times for reinforcement.I was sure
that my kids would start to call you uncle Rob because they saw that video countless
times! Anyway, you need to know that if for nobody else, your efforts of making this
dvd available, made my success possible.I am so very thankful to you for this!!!!!!
Maybe you should consider some sort of teaching aspects for your nursing career.

comments = THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU.  I PASSED THE CPNE Dec 14th 2008
in Madison, Wisconsin. I was failed in the last 2 times I took the CPNE. This was my
last chance. I typed in "How to pass the CPNE" and it brought up your website. I read,
and ordered immediately, I only had a few days to see what you had to say...  WELL,
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE LAST 2 1/2 YEARS of hell in my life????  I had taken
the Excelsior workshop, that was a waste of time and money. Failed the 1st CPNE,
took another workshop with someone else, failed the 2nd CPNE, accidently found your
website, PASSED the CPNE.  The way you are down to earth, no nonsense, logical,
straight forward was the Best and the MOST information I have heard in this entire
process. You are an excellent teacher, and presentator.  I new the Critical Elements,
but I needed to hear what know one was saying...and that is what is in your video.
YOU say it like it is. I thought of many of the things you said in the video when!
I thought I was losing my mind last weekend. I stopped, took a deep breath and
remembered, Rob said, just give them only what they have assigned you to do. No
more,no less. I played an "act". I deserve an OSCAR !!!!
I even threw in that, Thank you for allowing me as an Excelsior college nursing
student to take care of you today. OH MAN, THAT WAS A TRIP to watch the reaction
from the patients and perhaps catch the eye of my examniner if she was in range.
And you will be the first one I thank when they hand me that OSCAR!!!   Ha ha...
Thanks for saving me time, money and my mind.
I wish I had spent all that money on your video instead of  wasting it at other
workshops plus airfares, hotels to and from! Thankyou for your service to all who are
willing to survive with there minds intact; the CPNE!

I passed the CPNE in Plano, TX. Sept. 5-7, 2008.

I did NOT take any workshops. I simply could not afford one. I started out solely
using my Excelsior Study Guide for CPNE, 14th edition. I read everything I could get
my hands on from EC students via the EPN, yahoo groups, or message boards. That
is where I read a post from Rob about how he passed his CPNE. I printed out that
jewel and got busy. I set up a mock situation. That post only had a couple of areas
of care and I was truly stumped when I tried to get past the ones he had described.
Even though I had most of the critical elements memorized, I couldn't get them to
“flow”, I was stuck till I read that Rob had made this video!

This video is priceless. Easily worth 10 times the purchase price. I was immediately
doing a “snoopy dance”, because THIS is what I needed. I needed a visualization,
from someone who had been there, not only once, but twice. A real student with real
experiences, with a “genuine” desire to help other people pass this CPNE! This is a
MUST HAVE study tool for anyone who is going to take this exam. A true blessing. I
will be posting this same review along with some tips on how I used this priceless tool
on EC's EPN for anyone doubting I am a real EC student.

Thank you, Rob. You are a blessing and I know I would not have been able to pass
without this instruction from you!

I am getting ready to take the cpne soon. I have bought all the materials offered. I
took one workshop and it was very helpful too!  But when it came down to actually
putting all the details together and practicing, I bombed.  I became very
discouraged. I had all the materials, flashcards, several different sets of numonics,
several grids. But I really felt like I could not do this. It all was so overwhelming.
After following and reading Rob's responses and contributions on a message board
for fellow cpners, I immediately printed his tips and suggestions off.  He explained
things in a way that I understood. Then when it was suggested(jokingly of course)
about putting it on a DVD, I was so excited! Many of us encouraged Rob to do it.  I
ordered it as soon as his website went up, and received it several days later.

Almost IMMEDIATELY, when I started watching it, I felt relief. The Calvary WAS
HERE!!!! As I watched it I actually started smiling....Rob explained EVERYTHING and
goes thru each Area of Care in a way that makes it stick to my brain!! I am so so so
(can I say that enough???) thankful for someone taking the time to make a dvd like
this.  Rob, you are a blessing!!!  Thank you for doing this.  I am forever greatfull!!

FYI - I do not know Rob, have never met Rob.

Rob,

I passed my CPNE on Friday.  I figured I had about a 80 percent chance of passing
after watching your video....I felt I had a 50/50 shot before that.  You just never
know what is going to happen in the CPNE. One behind the scenes value that your
video adds is this:  It instills confidence.  A CE is going to be more apt to drop a hint
to someone who is confident and doing a good assessment, than someone who is
nervous and struggling.  Your video enabled me to be confident and efficient.  For
instance, in my 20 minute checks, I counted up the juice on the table and the CE
said to the patient, "I see you have a water pitcher, are you getting enough to
drink?"  I had missed the pitcher and the CE dropped a hint to me.  I think it was
because I was confident enough and showed I had good skills.  The confidence factor
I gained from your methods were invaluable.  It was this confidence that kept me
from being the weakest nurse in the group.  I will sing the praises of your videos and
not just to students, but to coworkers.  The RNs I work with in my hospital could
certainly benefit from your approach.  The walking up the arm method is nothing
short of brilliant. I could not have passed my CPNE without your material; any student
studying for the CPNE would be absolute fool to overlook the value of your video and
mneumonics.

- Clinton Middleton

Hey Rob,

Thank you so much for everything.  You came in at the last minutes with your video
and answers to my questions that just pulled everything together for me.  I can not
tell you how much I appreciate all you have done for me and others.

- M. Sullivan

I want to comment about Rob's video. It is the best money I have ever spent.

When I started studying for this wonderful, might I add lovely CPNE, I bought every
tool I could find. I even have an IV pole.LOL Whatever, anyway, I became familiar
with a poster on a certain cpne support website whose name was Rob. He gave great
tips and suggestions. He made me laugh in how he set up practice in a shed. I
actually laughed out loud as I read it.

His suggestions made sense, and.....stuck to me. I printed his stuff out. Then
something was said about making a dvd of the areas of care. So many people said
yes yes. Me included... So Rob took the time to make a video of areas of care.

Now, is it good???? Let me say this. I am a disorganized person. I try to be
organized. I do. I just didnt get that gene. I tried all sorts of ways to organize my
study, to get a routine. I spent more time shuffling papers, flashcards, rolling my IV
pole around, trying to get a plan. I got nowhere! So, when I received Rob's video, I
started watching it minutes after tearing the envelope open. Almost immediately, I
started smiling. Really really smiling. Like a big dope smiling.....my daughter was
like "helloooo Mooommmmmm, are you okayyyy???"

As I continued to ignore the kids and my husband peeking in on my smiling, and
watched the video(dvd), the weight that had been on me started to lift. I knew I
found the tool I needed to pass the cpne. He goes thru each area of care with a way
that I can understand, and do!!!!! He organized all the areas of care, all of what I
had been trying to organize.....It is wonderful.........and well worth 10 times what he
charges.

You will not be disappointed. It is wonderful!!!!!!! Best $40 ever spent.....
